Windows KotomiApp.exe doesn't see CT-2 device

So I bought the CT-2 device.  I installed the Windows software on my PC.  First thing I did was install the driver by selecting "Driver" -> "Install_Driver".  I plug in the CT-2 device to a USB port, but it just says "No port available".

I tried the same sequence on another Windows machine, with the same result.

The CT-2 does power up and shows the USB voltages and amperages.  But I am unable to get the Windows PC app to connect to the CT-2 device.

How to troubleshoot this?

Attached image is all I ever see.  I install the driver.  I tried different computers.  The KotomiApp.exe never connects to the CT-2 no matter what I do.

You should connect to the PC through the micro USB Port

Also check if your cable has data lines(some cheap cable just cut them out)

I guess there was something wrong with the cable.  I just tried a different cable and now it is working.  Strange because the other cable works with another USB device... so I don't know really.  Thanks for the help!
