Hi,
My CT-3L works well with lots of cables. Firmware 1.00.67 and Load Module firmware 1.03.00 (supports 28V)
Recently I noticed CT-3 is unable to read e-marker chip from two verified (but different brand) 5A cables that I recently acquired.
Those two cable were tested with multiple laptops and multiple chargers and powerbanks and with some 3D stress software running they all pulled close to 5A (as seen from powerbank displays or USB power meters) so they must have a proper e-mark chip, maybe newer. All laptops were 20V@5A. (100W)
On the CT-3 e-marker chip read screen, despite saying CC1 or CC2 connected depending on cable orientation, both cables show all zeroes and thus no identification. (But with other cables it is fine both the hex IDs are displayed and decoded fully. including 50V 5A or USB4Gen3 or TBT4 cables etc)
Would CT-3 need a firmware update to decode these newer cables?
