New Apple Lightning Cable reads "Fake"

The new Apple Lightning cables that came with my iPhone 8 Plus and my wife's iPhone 8 both test "Fake" with the CT-2. They read 6.84v @ 221ua.

User error, I was using incorrect firmware

i’m on the latest firmware tested with two USBC to Lightning cables and they come up as Fake. One of them is an original from Apple, how did you test yours? I’m wondering if there is a specific way to connect the cable.

Tried posting in another thread, will try this one and see if it lets me post, maybe my account is too new to post.

I have the latest v1.79.6 on both of my CT-2 meter's and get fake testing result on multiple original Apple lightning cables with the Apple MFI test.  I don't see anything I could be missing to test, tried both USB-A and USB-C cables.  I do have a couple of the CT-3 meter's on order, will test when I get them, but puzzled on what I could be doing wrong with the CT-2's.
