DFPs with power sharing only advertise PDOs with the maximum power being the total charger power rating divided by the number of ports. For example a 50W charger will advertise PDOs for each port that do not exceed 50W/2 or 25 Watts. You would see PDO1: 5V@3A (15W) ; PDO1: 9V@2.77A (25W); PDO3: 15V@1.67A (25W) & 20V@1.25A (25W), however, the module could provide more, up to a maximum of 50W. According to the PD spec this is the way a DFP (charger) must intitally work. I want to know if there is a way to get th te CT-3 to read the PDOs, but then ask for a PDO that exceeds the advertised level? Is this something you are currently aware of and are working on? I will see if I can gather more information on the proper PD message transacton(s) for doing such a thing from the supplier of the PD chipset I am using, and share that information with you as I receive it.
21-09-10 update: zip file uploaded containing CT-3 capture during Mac Book charging (model A2141). Excel file contains synopsis of charging session with observations. Can CT-3 be made to emulate Mac book?
